Small group programs

Life is busy! Between family, friends, work, and the unexpected, it is difficult to find the time to focus on your own health. Through these 4-8 week programs, you will learn about a variety of topics and how to implement them into your busy life. While each program includes nutritional guidance and developing healthy habits, there will be a different main theme in each program throughout the year. Nutrition for sports teams

Whether in college, high school, or an earlier stage of your athletic career, nutrition is an essential part of performance and recovery. By working as a team, you will succeed both on and off the field, track, court, or mat. Brendan offers the opportunity to meet with teams in order to educate about the importance of good food and proper hydration for athletic performance before, during, and after play. Working with coaches and parents is a vital part of the education process because healthy athletes aren’t built by working alone. Presentation topics include fueling, recovery, hydration, muscle building, athletic maintenance, and proper sleep. Discussions may vary by sport and time of year (before, during, or after season). Nutrition for schools

Food is fuel not only for your body, but for your mind as well. Kids in elementary school all the way through college aged adults require proper nutrition for focus, attention, and memory. Children are better off enjoying their food without stressing about the effects on their body and mind. High schoolers and college students can greatly benefit from learning what foods help them succeed. Equally important is learning how to access healthy and affordable food when they get out into the world on their own. Brendan can help with learning the basics and developing a healthy relationship with food, which can be carried beyond the time spent in the classroom. If you are a parent, teacher, professor, or administrator, now is the best time to help your students learn the importance of food for academic success!

Nutrition for families

Food often plays an important role in our family dynamics. Be it family dinner at the table, holiday gatherings, cultural importance, or hosting friends, food is a great way to bond with our loved ones. Whether one person in the home does the shopping or cooking or if it’s a group effort, the whole family can benefit from knowing the ins and outs of the role that food plays in our lives. Parents can gain peace of mind knowing that they are giving their kids what they need to have a healthy and happy life while your children can benefit from developing a healthy relationship with food from an early age. Meeting topics will include general nutrition, low-cost grocery shopping, quick & easy meals, healthy snacking, meal prepping, and more. All family members in the household are welcome to join in, and each meeting will be tailored to each family. Through regularly scheduled meetings, you will learn general nutrition information, how to navigate the grocery store, how to prepare healthy & tasty meals, and how to recognize misinformation & poor advice online. You will get more than just nutritional guidance by incorporating exercise into your program and learning how to build habits that will compound over time to help reach your goals. This whole-body approach to health will have you feeling great and living the life you want to lead!
